We (Nancy and Anne) usually teach in the wilds, where we invite participants to enter into communion with the marvelous and vast world of All Beings. In the wide open outdoors we strip ourselves down to the essential and expose ourselves to the elemental world of wind and weather, the wild creatures and each other.
In our second annual winter Coming Into the Body retreat, we invite you to enter the wilds in a different way — through the gateway of silence and a more focused meditative exploration of the body, our primary portal of connection to the subtle wisdom that saturates the cosmos.
When we live outdoors, we tune our senses to the outer world by quieting our inner world. On our journeys we use yoga, meditation and silence to create a container of enough stillness that the subtle voices of those with whom we share our world become clearer to us. Thus, we practice interspecies communion with whales and rattlesnakes, ravens, rocks and river.
By contrast, when we come indoors, we focus on the inner landscape. We meet ourselves fully, with patience and compassion. We learn to rest deeply in the body and receive what is revealed there. Being fully open to ourselves allows us to also be more fully open to other species. Living from our whole, authentic and embodied selves, we are available to be in receptive, open communion with all life, which is our birthright.
We invite you to join us at Synergia Ranch in Santa Fe, December 1-7, 2018. The retreat will include both indoor and outdoor practice and program facilitation; with a special afternoon spent in the stone temples and labyrinths of Stardreaming, a sanctuary for pilgrimages, initiation, ceremony and prayer that is located close to Synergia Ranch.

About Anne and Nancy
Anne Dellenbaugh began guiding wilderness trips in 1983. In 1990 she founded Her Wild Song in the belief that women’s spiritual lives are vitally important and that nourishing our spirits with wind and trees and river and sea is restorative not only to ourselves, but to others around us and even to the Earth herself. Inspired first by the teachings of feminist philosopher Mary Daly and Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, from the beginning Anne has combined the insights, principles, and practices of feminism and Buddhism with her work as a wilderness guide and teacher. Anne is particularly interested in the intersection of spirituality, psychology, and the body (our individual bodies and the body of the Earth).
Anne is a registered Maine Guide, a graduate of the National Outdoor Leadership School and of the Outdoor Leadership Program at Greenfield (MA) Community College. She holds certifications in canoe and yoga instruction and Wilderness First Responder. She received a BA from Smith College and a Masters in Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School. She created and named the Ordered Chaos of the Wild and Original Lotus, a contemplative lay community, in 1997. Anne is an ordained member of the Order of Interbeing, and a former Zen priest. Visit Anne’s website for more information about her work.
Nancy Windheart is an internationally respected animal communicator, animal communication teacher, and Reiki Master-Teacher based in Cornville (near Sedona), Arizona. She teaches animal communication and animal Reiki classes and provides animal communication consultations for clients worldwide. Nancy is a Reiki Master-Teacher and professional member of the International Association of Reiki Professionals, Registered Yoga Teacher (Yoga Alliance RYT 200), and an ordained minister through the Universal Life Church.
In her animal communication classes and retreats, Nancy integrates her training in yoga, Reiki, and meditation to help people become more fully grounded in their bodies, and open to their intuitive, receptive awareness. Nancy guides people to experiences of deep presence, which is the state of being where we are able to receive telepathic communication most clearly.
Nancy’s yoga practice has been most influenced by her teacher Rama Jyoti Vernon, and Buddhist teachers in several traditions. Nancy holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in music performance and is a former professional classical pianist and music professor. She brings her musical experience to the trip with her Native American flute.
Nancy and Anne’s collaboration originated in the yoga teacher training programs and retreats that they have done together, including those with Amy Weintraub, Angela Farmer, and Rama Jyoti Vernon. They also share a deep resonance with the somatic meditation teachings of the Vajarayana Buddhist tradition as held through Reginald Ray and the Dharma Ocean lineage.
Through experiencing and sharing these deep practices, they discovered their common calling to help women connect deeply and intimately with themselves and the Spirit within all life. Together, Anne and Nancy bring a synergy of their gifts, experience, and expertise, as well as their love of outdoor adventure, the natural world, and deep spiritual practice to their work as facilitators and trip leaders.
